PRINCIPAL & CEO

Mr. Murgio has twenty years of insurance, M&A advisory and business development experience, totaling nearly $4 billion in deal value. He has worked for numerous multibillion dollar insurance carriers, including assignments for such companies as Allstate, AIG, Allianz, Progressive, Morgan Stanley and White Mountains. Mr. Murgio has assisted international companies (UK, Netherlands, Bermuda and throughout Latin America), private equity startup operations, and regional insurance carriers. In addition, he has worked with various State Departments of Insurance helping companies in rehabilitation and liquidation. Mr. Murgio’s experience covers the property casualty and life / health markets, including working with insurance carriers, managing general agencies, wholesalers, retailers and third-party administrators.

In 2019, Mr. Murgio was named INVESTMENT BANKER OF THE YEAR by The M&A Advisor. Additionally, under his leadership, the firm was a Finalist in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023 for BOUTIQUE INVESTMENT BANKING FIRM OF THE YEAR.  Other notable accomplishments include his work as lead advisor on the sale of ITMA- International Transportation & Marine Agency to MS Amlin Insurance Group in 2021 which was awarded CROSSBORDER DEAL OF THE YEAR by The M&A Advisor; also the sale of First American Property & Casualty insurance business to Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc. in 2021; White Mountains (NYSE: WTM) $380MM acquisition of NSM Insurance Group and Group 1001’s acquisition of Lackawanna Insurance Group, both of which were awarded CORPORATE/STRATEGIC DEAL OF THE YEAR by The M&A Advisor in 2018 & 2019, respectively.

Prior to joining M&A, he served as the Founder and Managing Director for Venture Credit, LLC, a private equity firm dedicated to providing convertible debentures to middle market companies. Before founding Venture Credit, Mr. Murgio was a private equity analyst for Landmark Partners. He started his insurance career as a Registered Representative for Phoenix Home Mutual Life Insurance Company with a concentration in business continuation planning and financial advice for small to mid-sized businesses.

Mr. Murgio serves on the Board of Directors of Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company and Westeros Insurance Company.   He is also an active member of Target Markets, Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association, and the American Association of Insurance Management Consultants.

Mr. Murgio received his Bachelor of Arts from Union College in Schenectady, New York and currently holds the following Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses; Investment Banking Representative (Series 79), Corporate Securities Representative (Series 62) and the Uniform Securities State Agent (Series 63).
